My Columbia Records release...received wonderful reviews and had a couple future smash hits on it, BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD and ONE OF THESE DAYS. However, it was not to be at country radio!
The Raphaels was a group I formed with Scottish singer Stuart Adamson, formerly of the '80's band Big Country. The record was released in 2001, just a short while before Stuart's untimely death.
In some ways I feel this is my best work as a solo artist...a release of sorts after the Columbia record and the two years of radio touring, etc Songs like SUPERNATURAL, ARMADILLO DREAMIN, LIFE IS A CHURCH, AMERICAN LULLABYE, BACK TO ME AND YOU....some of the best I ever wrote.
First record released on my own label, Velvet Armadillo Records, in 1997.
